I am three glasses deep into your eyes. You’re pouring another tequila on ice. I’d rather be alone so carry me home. Then you ask me to go for a swim. The water’s cold; you’ll find me staying up all night. Eggshells on your queen sized. Wish my flight was tonight. Doing handstands hoping my legs crash into yours to give us a reason to laugh other than the fact that you never loved me and you never will. How much water can these lungs hold until you admit you let me go? I’ll be mostly water by the time your lips unfold. Your heart’s so heavy, your heart’s so cold but inside your pool it was buoyant enough to hold. So just take me by the hand, let’s back to your place for some drunk pitty sex and five months I lie awake.

Telekinesis 03:45
I will close my eyes on my return flight and pretend I have telekinesis and loosen the screws on the engine. Maybe you would feel bad if I died feeling sad in an airplane. So fuck your texas, fuck your attention paid for in tears shed. I wanna feel anything instead. I am afraid of unpacking my suitcase because my clothes still smell like your place, identity erased. A stranger drowning in your hometown, this airport bar is such a let down. I cannot drink another reason, am I lost or just found? So have fun with the boys in your bed and the drink in your hand it was what you were best at and I will never change that. No one will ever change that.

Dallas that wasn’t fair to either of us but that still won’t stop me from putting up a fuss. So hold me like you always do inside all of your sex dreams I did not wanna hear about. I was right in the first place you are a bad taste in my mouth. When we woke up in your town we did all of the things that you and I joke about. Every girl I date looks a little less like you. It’s a fucked game of telephone I’m too afraid to lose. So don’t come up on the new year; we won’t stay up late, watch The Tenth Kingdom and order pizza. I’ll concentrate on all the space between our bodies. And I could never love you now, if I say that enough somehow I might one day believe it. So chalk this up to candy cigarettes in my glove box that I was too afraid to ever throw away. So throw it away. You said you don’t believe it so I’ll quit smoking tomorrow for good.

She’s got jacob daisies wrapped around her wrist that scent has tied me down for far too long. Let’s check on Logan he is puking in the bathroom upstairs. Push me onto my bed, stop my mouth and touch my hair. Do you feel lonely sometimes? Is that the reason that you’re here tonight? You smell like someone I once knew, would you believe me if I said this is something I never do? Consult the polaroids in the morning, you were nowhere to be found. Think you’re a vampire, you can bite my neck if you need it. I learned my lesson; I will never pregame with Mario Party and jello shots but it brought me closer to you, when I pick Yoshi you pick Boo. It makes it so much harder for me to say no.

Thinking of you is like sleeping in my childhood room after I moved out. When I left did you wash your sheets? Did you hate to smell me? You said selfishness is necessary for self preservation–your personal vindication. Shopping for groceries you apologize for being so mundane. It’s my favorite thing when it’s with you. None of your friends know who I am, you let go of my hand when we met up with them. When the insomnia keeps you from sleep would you hate to think of me? Your costume’s Halloween and the substance is your scene. Drink your way out of the machine. You are obsolete, unclean–you’re a Skymall magazine. A slave to fading dopamine, composed of all of your failed dreams. You will never be happy, you’re a Skymall magazine. You said selfishness is necessary for self preservation–your personal vindication.
